- F:C \to Dがleft Quillen functorとはFがleft adjointでcofibとtriv cofibを保つこと。

- U:D \to Cがright Quillen functorとはUがright adjointでfibとtriv fibを保つこと。

- (F,U,\phi)がC \to Dのadjunctionとする。つまりF:C \to DとU:D \to Cで\phiがD(Fa,b) \to C(a,Ub)の自然同値とする。Fがlift Quillenのとき、これをQuillen adjunctionという。
